About this deal

As to staining, I've found that it takes stain well enough for my purpose and no worse than any wood filler. I first sanded the whole top down with 60 grit sandpaper and tried to sand out as much of the burn as possible. I had the same issue a while back, unsure of the exact version, but it seemed to be gritty and would not sand smooth. By purchasing this product from JB Tools, the manufacturers’ warranty, if any, potentially associated with the product may not be honored by the manufacturer. The stainable wood filler doesn’t match the texture of the wood around it, even when you prestain the blob of it ahead of time in a paper cup before filling the burn hole. I found it easy to work with, no fumes (in peoples homes), a few drops of water to change consistency, doesn't seem to shrink, dries fast. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If the dried filler has shrunk or is not completely smooth with the edges, add more filler and repeat the process.

Our wood fillers come in a variety of assorted colors or in a stainable formula that allows for easy stain matching. Now if it’s a crack in a piece of wood after opening the crack without breaking the wood off and filling in a crack with this putty works well in those cases or if let’s say after gluing a broken wood piece back on and there’s a gap left by the glue I will then I fill it with wood filler.

Well, I'm not terribly scientific about it, I just ground up a bunch of balsa scraps using a dremel, and dumped some elmers in. Well part of the wood dowel broke leaving half a dowel normally I’d attempt to glue the broken wood that came off and I tried that but I couldn’t get the clamp to stay still, so I threw the broken part away and put wood putty in it’s place and formed the putty into the same shape as the dowel was originally. As you sand, you will likely encounter areas of putty that haven't fully cured, so this mix may need to be sanded in stages, depending on how bug of a void you're fillling.

So I sanded down a Boba Fett helmet dome portion too far and the infill was quite visible and you could feel it, so instead of caking on Bondo I got some Elmer's Wood Filler Interior, watered it down and painted it on, fixed that issue wonderfully HOWEVER it is not very hard and I can put cuts in it with just my fingernails, so I'm wondering if anyone's used this before, does it hold primer well, and have I ruined my helmet?EDIT: I let the sun bake it a bit more and then I took some of my Ceramic Gray Elegoo resin and put a coat of it on top of the filler, worked like a dream and work can finally resume!
