About this deal

Commanded by a Mortisan Boneshaper and a Soulreaper, these immortal debt collectors include 20 Mortek Guard and three Necropolis Stalkers – or three Immortis Guard, if you prefer. A Gothizzar Harvester refashions errant bones into new constructs for the army, while the Mortek Crawler hurls the gift of caskets of screaming souls at besieged enemies." If you haven’t already, this is a fantastic time to explore the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Four giant Battleforces thunder onto the scene this year to either expand your existing army or to help you take the plunge into the Era of the Beast. Battleforce: Soulblight Gravelords Revenant Legion This is the largest Battleforce of 2021 if we are looking purely at the number of models. Though this set has 40 zombies. 40! that’s near enough 20 twins. Sure it’s a lot of models, but as a painter, this is the last thing I want.

Another solid set. For a new player I really like this box. First, the Heroes: The Boneshaper is a solid foundation to start from. Of the 3 generic Wizard Heroes I think the Soulmason is the strongest but the Boneshaper makes a decent follow up option. Supplies from Mars are slightly delayed for those of you in Canada and the US, where the Omnissiah’s Talon box will drop early next year. Adepta Sororitas Battleforce: Purgatos Mission The Rohan Stronghold comes with a veritable village of houses, as well as palisade walls and watchtowers which let you make your very own Rohan settlement. Decorate your hearth with bolter, melta, and flamer, for this box has ‘em all and more. Along with a Sister Dogmata and a squad each of Battle Sisters and Celestian Sacresants, this force also includes two giant tanks that will definitely add a little spice to your holiday carnage.

Overall, the 2021 Warhammer Battleforces are decent values and Games Workshop did a pretty good job of keeping the total MSRP all very similar. While the Space Marines have the most value in terms of dollars, it’s not by an insane amount. Whether you play the armies already or not they come with a decent chunk of units to get somebody started off on the right foot or add to your forces. There’s nothing worse than being woken up from your nap aeons earlier than planned, which is a fact of (synthetic) life for Necrons across the galaxy. This Battleforce is especially cranky about it, and wants to put its opponents to bed with esoteric guns wielded by Lokhust Heavy Destroyers and Canoptek Doomstalkers, and the razor-sharp claws of the Ophydian Destroyers and Flayed Ones. He is a God of Destruction that once sparred with Gorkamorka himself and broke one of his teeth with his shield. Shield that is able to repel most spells: roll 3D6 and if you beat the casting value (not the casting roll) then the spell has no effect on Kragnos. He can be used in any Destruction army and is a real steamroller. Galen and Doralia ven Denst – Witch Hunters While those of you in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can start collecting your bone tithe right now, this box will be dropping a little later for the rest of the world. For as much as I really love the Grand Alliance of Death, and especially Deathrattle Skeletons, you’d think I’d have more love for the Ossiarch Bonereapers. And, I was until I bought some Morghasts and painted them and hated every bit of it. But, your mileage may vary. (That said, one of my prize collections is Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis.)

These cranky killing machines are off to reclaim the galaxy by force, and this box comes with more than enough firepower to do just that, with Lokhust Heavy Destroyers and Canoptek Doomstalkers. You will also get a Psychomancer, a squad of Necron Warriors, and melee support in the form of Flayed Ones and Ophydian Destroyers. Adeptus Mechanicus Battleforce: Omnissiah’s Talon This box includes a host of Plague Marines and Deathshroud Bodyguard, accompanied by daemon-touched war machines – three Myphitic Blight-haulers and a Plagueburst Crawler – all able to withstand a huge amount of punishment before crashing into the enemy lines in an inexorable wave of stench and decay. While a box full of simple marines might not be exciting, it’s certainly viable as you’ll need a ton of marines to fill out a full list anyways! Rob makes a good point that everything inside could be useful for new and old players alike. The other boxes are the same price and have similar value, but not as many troops. The only box not out now is the Ad Mech one, which will not be out until ‘Early 2022’, so if you’ve been waiting for that, you’ll have a little longer to go.Arising from a slumber of aeons, this Necrons really need a good coffee. Otherwise they’re grumpy for the first hundred years or so. This now sleepless legion will scour the world for a good cuppa with; The main event next week is Battleforces, massive boxes containing a wealth of units for a faction. They’re the ideal place to start a new army for the new year , or to expand an existing force. There are 10 boxes (count ‘em) split between Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. First up, everyone’s favourite grim future gets six boxes. I admit, this box just makes me laugh because if anything says “Christmas” less than “Hedonites of Slaanesh”, it’s “Blade-Carnival.” There’s nothing worse than being woken up from your nap aeons earlier than planned, which is a fact of (synthetic) life for Necrons across the galaxy. This Battleforce is especially cranky about it, and wants to put its opponents to bed with esoteric guns wielded by Lokhust Heavy Destroyers and Canoptek Doomstalkers, and the razor-sharp claws of the Ophydian Destroyers and Flayed Ones. Get HeroQuest Now For the Holidays! Five speedy Pteraxii, five stealthy Ruststalkers, and three Serberys Raiders make up the core of this battleforce, supported by the Ironstrider Ballistarii’s powerful cognis lascannons. Behind them marches a unit of 10 Skitarii Rangers and their Tech-priest Manipulus commander.
