About this deal

Yes, the C40 guitar does work as advertised; this is a beginner’s guitar and the C40 works exactly as any other beginner guitar does. The sound that the C40 produces lays a great foundation for future playing, as it serves as an instrument that’s sufficient enough to

i bought a C40 had to return it next day, fretbuzz was a crazy even with very high action. provided thomann with a video of a B chord sounding very bad. The C40 is the guitar that thousands of students around the world have learned to play on over many years. It’s hard to argue with its success. Yamaha C40 technical specifications

Success

Bought thos for my son who played classical guitar in high school and who is legally blind. Though he's been playing piano as of late I know he still loves the guitar. So I bought him the Yamaha C40II classical nylon string guitar. I'm not a guitar player but drummer but been around lots of guitars. But I can play a few simple chords, so I know what a good and bad guitar sounds & looks like construction wise. This guy is excellent to start off with, it's a full scale so if you have small or petite hands I suggest you move down to 3/4 scale. Also, if you record music at home, adding a nylon string guitar to your musical armoury is always useful: it’s another texture sound and even inspiration for your compositions. This model will give you that without breaking the bank. As an investment, it’s easy to justify! I’ve read some people criticize the quality of the guitar strings that come with the C40. This is like buying a new car and criticizing the polish. You’ll need to change strings regularly as they wear, just as you need to wash your car to keep it clean. The overall quality makes up the biggest disadvantage of the Yamaha C40 classical guitar, but for the price that you pay for this guitar, it’s what you’d expect. C40s have a low-midrange sound, not much definition on high frets on the nylon strings, as expected.

Did you know that Ibanez offers more than just bass guitars and electric guitars? Yes, they do! The Ibanez AEG10NII is a classical guitar with nylon strings that’s meant to really perform. If you have been playing guitar for a long time and have more of a professional ear on you, you will notice that this guitar sounds more muted and doesn’t project as well as some guitars. Pros The C40’s dimensions are similar to other nylon string guitars in the beginner price range, with a standard 650 mm (25 9/16″) scale length. Younger or smaller players may prefer the 7/8, 3/4 or 1/2 size models, which are readily available. A relatively high action NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar Overview

the overall sound of the guitar when not buzzing is more than acceptable, if this guitar was manufactured to a decent finish including set up, it would be fine.

If you’d like a guitar strap on this guitar, be prepared to do some work as well. There is no place to connect a guitar strap on either end. Body Setting the action high gives the manufacturer a greater margin for error against imperfections in the fretboard. If the action is set too low, it can cause buzzing (where the strings rattle against the frets). Most of the other parts of the guitar are pretty standard for a cheaper classical guitar and it doesn’t take much work to get it ready for playing when you first buy it because it already has the strings on it when you take it out of the box. Because it is a lower quality guitar, it does struggle to stay in tune so you’ll definitely have to do that before playing it for the first time, and often after that.Don’t let the price tag fool you: this is perfect for serious classical students as well as those dipping their toes into the pool of nylon string guitars. The craftsmanship is high for any affordable guitar, and is pretty spectacular for this price! Yamaha don’t know how to make bad gear, and this entry-level guitar is ample proof. The Yamaha C40 has a traditional classical guitar sound that’s great for the beginner or casual intermediate player. It is not quite as loud as other classical guitars because of the laminate wood and it isn’t as rich sounding as other guitars.
