About this deal

Based on durability test conducted by HMD Global. MIL-STD-810H certified up to 1.5m drop protection. Call for public sector to provide framework for stimulus, regulation and standardization that supports greener, digitalized world. Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia, said: “There is no green without digital. Only 30% of the world’s economy is currently digitalized, and we must now work to connect the remaining 70% to ensure the world can reach net zero. 5G and related technologies play a critical role in making other industries more sustainable. At the same time the ICT industry needs to minimize its footprint and accelerate the use of green electricity" It’s a shame, then, that the choice of processor hinders nearly all interactions with the phone. From opening apps and playing games, to even simply swiping through the interface, there is a degree of hesitancy and lag which at best is inconvenient and at worst is quite distracting. While its rivals are doing their best to show off best times and benchmark results, the X10 is often found trying to catch its breath. As a trusted partner for critical networks, we are committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks. We create value with intellectual property and long-term research, led by the award-winning Nokia Bell Labs.

According to research by Nokia and GSMA Intelligence, annual productivity and energy-saving gains of 10–20% can be realized through the conversion to smart factories. The screen on the Nokia X10 may be big in size, but it’s certainly not in ambition. While the competition are adopting high-refresh panels, with boosted resolutions and AMOLED tech as standard, the 6.67in offering on the X10 remains average in almost every regard. From the 1080p resolution to the bog-standard 60Hz refresh, there’s not much on offer here to outdo the competition. The Nokia X10 captures video at either 30fps or 60fps at 1080p, with no option for 4K capture at any frame rate. Though the in-built stabilisation wasn’t up to much, the footage produced proved to be quite decent, with good colour and adequate detail. For those looking to dive deeper, a ‘Cinema’ mode is also included, allowing for a host of manual controls. Nokia X10 review: Verdict Nokia’s ReefShark powered plug-in cards cut power consumption by up to 75%, while its FP5 routing silicon reduces power consumption by 75% compared to previous generations. New cooling systems developed by Nokia for energy-intensive base stations can reduce energy use by roughly 70%.Buying a good mid-range smartphone in 2021 is arguably easier than ever before. At all budget levels, thanks to stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Realme, a host of good options exist for anyone looking for a new phone on the cheap. For users who are truly after a basic ‘dumb’ phone, it does the job. You can call and send messages, play a game while waiting for a train, drop it in the rain and forget to charge it most nights.

It also seems selectively dumb, offering a Facebook app but nothing else – which for Gen Z would maintain the digital detox element as they rarely use it, but could lure in others.New 100% renewable electricity target across Nokia facilities, including offices, R&D labs, and factories.

Nokia has already committed to reducing its emissions by 50% across its value chain, including own operations, products in use, logistics, and final assembly supplier factories by 2030. Its commitments have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to be in line with the Paris Agreement’s aim of limiting global warming to 1.5C. With 90% of its emissions coming from customer use of products, Nokia continually invests in improving product energy efficiency – even as capacity grows. [6] The announcement comes with world leaders having convened in Glasgow, Scotland for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). Nokia President and CEO Pekka Lundmark joined political, business, and civil society leaders at the conference, calling for an acceleration in the uptake of green technology to reach net zero. The Nokia X10 comes with a standard camera setup, which consists of a quad array of sensors, but only two of which are useful. There is a 48MP (f/1.8) main shooter, which is flanked by a 5MP ultrawide sensor, followed by a 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor. This isn’t to say that the screen on the X10 is bad in any particular way. Covering 87% of the sRGB colour gamut with a total volume of 104%, the Nokia X10’s colours aren’t completely off-kilter, and the settings menu offers finer-grained controls over colour temperature as well. Most will want to skew this a little warmer than the default, which tends to be a little too cool. Producing a mid-range phone in 2021 that is not only technically good but that stands apart from the crowd is no mean feat. And despite Nokia’s best efforts with the X10, it doesn’t do quite enough to distance itself from the competition.

Nokia advocates for the world to digitalize to reach net zero and align the digital and green transformations. Portrait mode proved to be a pleasant surprise, with edge detection working quite well, and the included macro cam proved to capture the occasional decent image – though this took a lot of effort to achieve. Low-light performance was competent, too, but it won’t challenge the more premium competition any time soon. Using memory extension (virtual RAM) requires enough storage space. To protect the storage, memory extension is automatically and permanently disabled once 90% of the usage limit is reached. This can occur after 4 years of heavy usage.
