About this deal

(Sin duda algo que enriquece por completo la exploración sobre estos temas) Shortly after moving from California to Salem, Massachusetts, Max Dennison finds himself in hot water when he accidentally releases a coven of witches, the Sanderson sisters, from the afterlife. Max, his sister, and his new friends (human and otherwise) must find a way to stop the witches from carrying out their evil plan and remaining on earth to torment Salem for all eternity. Twenty-five years later, Max and Allison’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all their sinister glory. When Halloween celebrations don’t quite go as planned, it’s a race against time as Poppy and her friends fight to save her family and all of Salem from the witches’ latest vile scheme. Collect and play with hundreds of Disney, Pixar and Star Wars emojis like never before in an exciting matching game! Play fast paced rounds of match-3 to earn prizes, complete missions, and discover new emojis. I love it! The illustrations in this book are quite well done and the story is also very well written. So far I’ve only read the prologue which is the first scene of the film until we see the sisters being hanged. I can really say that I will enjoy reading this book! And at the perfect time, with Hocus Pocus 2 coming out in less than a month!

A must-see for fans of the cult classic film, this novelization was a good read. I had just recently watched the new sequel film, so when I stumbled across this novelization at my library, I was thrilled to see what might have been in store for readers in this revisit of the original film.Hocus Pocus is an American fantasy comedy horror film franchise. So far, the franchise has run for 30 years. The franchise began with the release of Hocus Pocus on July 16, 1993. The film was followed by Hocus Pocus 2 (released on September 30, 2022). Or they are not allowed to make the cover with the eye due to reasons unknown perhaps they are going to make a book with the eye in the future. They don't won't this book to be actually associated with the franchise but if that is so why manufacture it? Although I am not a raving fan of the film, Hocus Pocus (that accolade would have to go to Labyrinth), when I saw this illustrated version by Gris Grimly, I thought it would be the perfect read leading up to Halloween. And, in a lot of ways, it is. But this book did leave me sitting on the fence a little bit, which is why I have gone down the middle and awarded 3 stars.

ISABELLA RICHARDS | Isabella seems to have the perfect life. She’s the most popular girl at Jacob Bailey High and has an admirable list of extracurriculars—not to mention a killer report card. It’s no wonder Poppy thinks no one holds a candle to her. (See what we did there?) After Isabella befriends Poppy and Travis at the start of the school year, Poppy shares her family’s connection to the Sanderson sisters. Isabella is itching to know more . . . but why? Why is this the most lazy trope in anything to do with magic and witchcraft? Why write things in Latin at all? There was no Latin in the hocus pocus film. So why would it be in the supposed reproduction of their spellbook. It's a lazy attempt at mysticism when it cannot be tied to the franchise it is based off. And if that is so then why is it filled with inaccuracies? The spells from the film are completely different to those in this book. Why? I don't understand. Ardent fans of the film would like the words to be the same, and the majority of those buying this book, are fans of the film. Why not give this job to an actual fan who would of been paid in peanuts to do this job properly and not write so many inaccuracies that it seems like fanfiction. Bette Midler • Sarah Jessica Parker • Kathy Najimy • Omri Katz • Thora Birch • Vinessa Shaw • Sean Murray • Jason Marsden • Doug Jones As a story, it is a straightforward tale, without much surprise or suspense. Maybe if the reader loved the movie, it would be fun to read the novelization. Three stars for the writing, and five big stars for the artwork of Gris Grimly! Now, it has been a fair while since I have seen the film, but I think this novelization basically recounts the tale as it appears on screen. So, if you are a big fan of the film, I would guess that this would appeal to you. They show a worn look and the beginnings of the chapters start with detailed calligraphy letters. Very reminiscent of the sisters’ spell book. This in itself can be a pure collector’s item. I’m surprised how low the price is as there is so much detail in the illustrations, the exterior and the overall feel of the book. I literally almost had tears in my eyes when I got my first look. The nostalgia will overwhelm you and you, as a Hocus Pocus fan, will protect this amazing book at all costs.
