I guess the smell is suede more than a hard polished leather, and so Luqawam pour Homme has a very bold leathery but suede aroma as opposed to the very light suede leather fragrances on the market (Suedois, Cuiron). I feel that Ambergris Showers is lighter and more suited to being worn during the day and Tobacco Haze holds a position somewhere between the two. Godolphin is just more sophisticated and posh in all the right ways whereas this one just goes right for the throat with that smoky incense, tobacco leaf, and amber, with the raspberry peeking its head out here and there. Of course, it may be better during evenings on hot days and it can be an all-day fragrance during cold months. Unless I am being fooled by Bulgarian rose (which is not in the official scent pyramid) or something, I am pretty sure it's jasmine.
