The Russian soldiers themselves constituted a prime recipient for Afghanistan’s hashish production: in one of the lanes of Kabul’s Khair Khana neighbourhood, aptly re-named Sarak-e Russ-ha (Russians’ Street), they would engage in petty trade with locals and one of the most sought-after items to barter Red Army supplies for, was chars. The effects may be more intense due to the high concentration of THC found in hash and other concentrates.
