About this deal
it has fired 1 nail properly, and a few others that barely penetrated the wood and gave a very hard kick back. A single battery seems to last a day which was a nice surprise, as I thought they would drain much quicker in a gasless gun. The quick load rear access magazine is convenient, as is the two action nail feed - simply drop nails in and pull the feeder back.
The box is decent too, with a fair bit of spare room and not a stupid blow moulded case like cheap tools/all older tools came with. I've just had another look, to check if something is stopping the top depressing as you have suggested and it's something to do with the mechanism that stops the nails falling out the magazine. As if this wasn't enough the Hitachi NR90GC2/J8 also has an easy access fuel cell chamber and is amazingly easy to clean, so you can spend less time looking after your gun and more time using it. A better alternative, at least to my mind for less intense use, are the cordless guns from DW and Hitachi. I use Paslode nails and gas because this is much easier to get than Hitachi's own brand consumables. Brushless motors are much-heralded and with good reason, especially when it comes to nailers; you need powerful power tools that are durable and efficient without compromising on performance, which the NT1850DE and NT1865DM excel at.
Takes a zero degree plastic collated strip nail with a nail length variation from 15mm through to 40mm.
The tool does the job easily and the depth can be adjusted, which is great for different applications.
The HiKOKI (formerly known as Hitachi) NR90GC2 cordless gas nail gun is a fantastic alternative to the Paslode IM350 nailgun. On 1st unboxing I thought it seemed quite heavy (more similar to an sds drill than a cordless tool) however it is very well balanced and comfortable to use in either hand all day long. For some reason the nail feeder isn't sitting at the end of the nail strip but travels all the way back up to the top and so the lever never lowers hence the gun is locked. Featuring tool free depth adjustment, dry firing lock out, tool free jam clearance and a handy belt hook the Hitachi NT65GB has all the features you would expect from a top end nail gun and then some! The NR90GC2/J8 features a longer trigger stroke for safer use and a reduction in misfires, dry firing lockout again to help prevent accidental nail fire and a soft grip handle for improved control and reduce user fatigue.
You can calculate your postage charge for Hitachi NR90GC2 Cordless Gas Framing Nail Gun before you checkout. I've had a deWalt DCN692 (the better two speed model) for about 4-1/2 years and been very happy with it, other than the weight, which makes it tiring to use for extended periods when working above the head (e. It did stick a few times so I did think the motor had gone, which would be typical as a replacement is expensive, bit then it started to run. This product carries a full 1 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. The Hitachi NR1890DBCL/JP Brushless Framing Nailer is supplied with: 1 x Pair of Safety Glasses1 x Stackable Case2 x 18V 5.
In 10 plus years I've needed 4 replacement batteries, one charger and an igniter board ( under warranty). I'm considering the purchase of a Hitachi finishing nailer too, I shan't even look for at other brands. If you insist on a gas nailer (but TBH, I wouldn't) then I'd look at either the Senco GT90CH or the near identical Rawl WW90CH (which have interchangeable parts, in the main because they come from the same factory in Taiwan). Some manufacturers will offer a direct repair or replacement service (as applicable) which will often resolve your problem more quickly.
