Dick Gaughan Book this event online at the booth
Saturday 13th September 2008 @ 8.00pm £10.00
Dick Gaughan has never been easy. The songs he delivers ask questions that some of the audience may have thought never existed - so they may not, instantly at least, know the answers. When the answers duly come, delivered in a voice that throbs with a unique kind of controlled, vibrating passion, he can shake the most complacent mindset out of its skull.

You go home from a Dick Gaughan session feeling exhilarated, not just at the wonderful skills of the most potent singer ever to emerge from the Scottish folk-music revival, not just at the astonishingly fluent and explosively eloquent guitar playing, but by the sense of the stark exposition of wrong and the tremendously argued legitimacy of right. Even those who disagree profoundly with his view of life recognise the conviction and the supreme artistry.

Jane Taylor Book this event online at the booth
Friday 26th September 2008 @ 8.00pm £8.00
When a song called ‘Fall on Me‘, was recently played on Johnnie Walker‘s Drive Time show on BBC Radio 2, he was inundated with e-mails wanting to know who this new singer songwriter was, where they could find out about her, and most importantly would he please play more.

Johnnie Walker then invited to her to play a live session on the show on Feb 2nd, the cd requests and e-mails flooded in. Months later, having appeared on Radio 4’s ‘Loose Ends‘, securing a distribution deal with Pinnacle, (the album has been released nationaly from June 12th), and with a support slot opening for Jools Holland at this years Larmer Tree festival…. One of Bristol’s finest singer songwriters is well and truly on her way .

But Jane Taylor’s journey really started some three years earlier in 2002 when she decided to give up life in the real world (marketing) and focus her attention on the fact that she’d been writing songs since she was little, and maybe there was something in that.

Come and hear her live at The Warehouse and find out what all the fuss was about...
